Mayyazhippuzhayude Theerangalil is a famous Malayalam novel, which is said to describe the political and social background of Mahe with a mystical and spiritual touch. Mahe used to be a French colony in the past and is also known as Mayyazhi. The novel is considered to be M. Mukundan’s magnum opus and has been translated into English and French.
About M. Mukundan
M. Mukundan is among the pioneers of modernity in Malayalam literature and has served as president of Kerala Sahitya Akademi from October 2006 to March 2010. In Kerala, he is known as Mayyazhiyude Kathakaaran. He published his first literary work, a short story, in 1961. He has published 12 novels and ten collections of short stories to date.
